My Girl

Just when I think she is growing out of the realm of absolute wonder, I am reminded that my little Molly is a genius, a singer/songwriter, and a comedian among other things.

Yesterday, Molly and I went to Fazolis to bring home lunch for the three of us who are not on the milk-only diet. On the way home, she began singing about the gray sky, then the trees, then the streets. I realized she was making up this lilting little melody on the fly. As she looked out to the left, big gray skies; to the right, big green pine trees; straight ahead, open road. I was absolutely impressed.

She also won me over by her recent, constant request for ‘the bear cd’. Of course she was referring to the ‘Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of U2′ that I bought for her and little Traveling Matt. Alright, I bought it as much for myself as for them. But they do enjoy it. I’m pretty sure I saw Matthew’s toe tapping to ‘Beautiful Day’.

Today, we were sitting around the kitchen table, eating some Taco Bell and discussing ice skates and mac books. Stacey and I were debating which one was the bigger priority. While getting a mac book certainly is, we can’t afford either, so it’s a stupid thing to discuss. However, it was a fun discussion anyway because Molly bursts out with some mac book specs “It’s got 2.16 giggle-hertz”. Stacey and I cracked up. Our little mockingbird repeats everything we say, (which can be dangerous) and sometimes it’s best when she gets it wrong.

That’s my girl!
