The Time of My Life (Swayze Style)
Saturday, March 17th, 2007This must be the Best Week Ever for Spring Break. We didn’t even go anywhere, but it still felt like a vacation. Everybody came to see us instead.
Sarah came and visited Saturday through Wednesday. It was good to see “Aunt Sarah” and discuss her love life, music, media, and God stuff. It had been a really long time since we had seen her. While we did get to enjoy some Pappasitos with her, we did miss out on one crucial element that makes going to see Sarah better than Sarah coming here: Ted’s Escondido Restaurant. Well, that gives us all the more reason to plan a trip to OKC. Sounds like we better hurry though, Wheaton’s a calling! It’s always a good thing to see Sarah.
And then the Kizers came. They stayed from Monday through Saturday. We hadn’t seen them in a really really really long time. Nathan and I led worship for Ignite on Wednesday. Man, I miss playing with him. I think we’re both better now than we were a couple of years ago. We just picked up where we left off. On Thursday I skipped classes (oops!) and we all went to the beach. The girls had a blast. The water was still freezing cold, but that didn’t stop us. We waited 3 hours to eat at the Rainforest Cafe in Galveston, and had midnight dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in the Woodlands. I gained a few pounds, (oops again!) but who’s counting? Anna and Molly had a ton of fun. It’s funny to see how terribly alike and terribly different they are all at the same time.
Nathan and I uncovered a new disease that is plaguing the nation globe this week.
You’ve heard of Avian Flu, Dog Aids, and Tuberculosis… but there’s a new epidemic pandemic sweeping the globe:
Airborn Feline Cancer (yes, it’s cat cancer and it’s in the air)
With that said, it was a fun and relaxing time to have all of our far away friends here this week. We sat and cried a while today after Nate & Kenna left. We miss our dear friends, but the Lord is good. We’ve had some precious time this week with them.
It just never seems enough.
